Statistics Netherlands

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) enables people to have debates on social issues on the basis of reliable statistical information.The mission of CBS is to publish reliable and coherent statistical information which responds to the needs of Dutch society. The responsibility of CBS is twofold: firstly, to compile (official) national statistics and secondly to compile European (community) statistics.

Outsourced R&D is excluded. The figures include: - R&D expenditures: own staff; - own R&D staff in full-time equivalents. Figures relate to: - companies; - institutes, consisting of: * research institutes; * central government institutions; * health care and welfare institutions; * other institutes. - institutes for higher education, consisting of: * publicly financed universities; * university hospitals or parts thereof; * institutes for higher professional education (hbo).
