The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is an independent, nonprofit scientific and educational organization dedicated to reducing the losses — deaths, injuries and property damage — from crashes on the nation's roads. IIHS inspects all available new cars in the North American market using crash-test defining which models are the most secure among them. IIHS conducts vehicle tests to determine crashworthiness — how well a vehicle protects its occupants in a crash. It also rates vehicles for front crash prevention, systems that warn the driver or brake automatically to avoid or mitigate a frontal collision. This dataset provides up-to-date information about IIHS vehicles crash tests in 2017. Dataset includes definitions and marks for each test by brand, model and class.
