Program Overview:The Common Core of Data (CCD) nonfiscal surveys consist of data submitted annually to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) by state education agencies (SEAs) in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the four US Island Areas (American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands), the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), and the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE). In order to provide data comparable across states, NCES and representatives of SEAs have worked since the 1950s to develop and accept common data items and definitions. SEAs report school-, agency-, and state-level education data for the CCD through the US Department of Education's EDFacts collection system. CCD survey staff edits the data to produce the final data file, which NCES uses to construct general-purpose publications and specialized reports. The principal users of CCD nonfiscal data are the federal government; the education research community; state and local government officials, including school boards and LEA administrators; and the general public.   Guidelines for Missing, Not Applicable, and Suppression Code Values: For Numeric Data: -1 denotes missing, not available, or not reported data items. -2 denotes "not applicable" data items. -9 indicates suppressed data because it failed the multi-year edit.

The Freight Analysis Framework (FAF) creates a comprehensive picture of freight movement among states and major metropolitan areas by all modes of transportation. The FAF integrates data from a variety of sources. Starting with data from the Commodity Flow Survey (CFS) and international trade data from the Census Bureau, FAF incorporates data from agriculture, extraction, utility, construction, service, and other sectors. The FAF is produced by BTS with support from FHWA.

The data in this table include foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury marketable and non-marketable bills, bonds, and notes reported monthly under the Treasury International Capital (TIC) reporting system. The data are collected primarily from U.S.-based custodians. Since U.S. securities held in overseas custody accounts may not be attributed to the actual owners, the data may not provide a precise accounting of individual country ownership of Treasury securities (see TIC FAQ #7 at: http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Pages/ticfaq1.aspx). -- Data for December 2011 and later include holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds and notes as reported on TIC Form SLT, "Aggregate Holdings of Long-Term Securities by U.S. and Foreign Residents.", including preliminary SLT data for the most recent month on the MFH table. -- The data before December 2011 were collected primarily from U.S.-based custodians and broker-dealers. Those data includes estimated foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds and notes based on adding monthly net transactions from the TIC S Form to the holdings in the most recent annual Survey of Foreign Holdings of U.S. Securities. See footnotes 16 and 17 for details about the transition period during the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2011.

This dataset presents the population-based surveillance for laboratory-confirmed influenza-associated hospitalizations in children (persons younger than 18 years) and adults. The FluSurv-NET's current network covers over 70 counties in the 10 Emerging Infections Program (EIP) states (CA, CO, CT, GA, MD, MN, NM, NY, OR, and TN) and three additional states through the Influenza Hospitalization Surveillance Project (MI, OH, and UT). The network represents approximately 9% of US population i.e. 29 million people. Cases are identified by reviewing hospital, laboratory, and admission databases and infection control logs for patients hospitalized during the influenza season with a documented positive influenza test (i.e., viral culture, direct/indirect fluorescent antibody assay (DFA/IFA), reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), or a rapid influenza diagnostic test (RIDT)).Data gathered are used to estimate age, racial/ethnic and sex-specific hospitalization rates on a weekly basis and describe characteristics of persons hospitalized with influenza illness. Laboratory-confirmation is dependent on clinician-ordered influenza testing. Therefore, the rates provided are likely to be underestimated as influenza-related hospitalizations can be missed due to test availability and provider or facility testing practices. Note- In all influenza seasons except 2009-10 and 2021-22, rates reflect cases hospitalized during October 1 – April 30 of each influenza season.
