Figures on births and mortality, causes of death and the occurrence of certain infectious diseases are available from 1900, other series from later dates. In addition to self-perceived health, the table contains figures on infectious diseases, hospitalisations per diagnosis, life expectancy, lifestyle factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption and obesity, and causes of death. The table also gives information on several aspects of health care, such as the number of practising professionals, the number of available hospital beds, nursing day averages and the expenditures on care. Many subjects are also covered in more detail by data in other tables, although sometimes with a shorter history. Data on notifiable infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS are not included in other tables. Data available from: 1900 Status of the figures: Most figures are definite. Figures are provisional for the last year reported for: - health professions. Figures are provisional for the last three years reported for: - expenditures on care. Figures are provisional for the last four years reported for: - hospital admissions; - length of stay in hospital. Due to "dynamic" registrations, figures for infectious diseases remain provisional. Changes as of 20 December 2018: - For each series the most recent available figures have been added - For length of stay of hospital admissions the figures have been replaced from 1981 onwards, now fully based on hospital discharge registers. Data cited at:  CBS StatLine databank https://opendata.cbs.nl/statline/portal.html?_la=en&_catalog=CBS Publication: Health, lifestyle, health care use and supply, causes of death; key figures https://opendata.cbs.nl/portal.html?_la=en&_catalog=CBS&tableId=81628eng&_theme=1007 License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/   This table provides an overview of the key figures on health and care available on StatLine. All figures are taken from other tables on StatLine, either directly or through a simple conversion. In the original tables, breakdowns by characteristics of individuals or other variables are possible. The period after the year of review before data become available differs between the data series. The number of exam passes/graduates in year t is the number of persons who obtained a diploma in school/study year starting in t-1 and ending in t. Data available from: 2001 Status of the figures: Most figures are definite. Figures reported for the last year are provisional for: - perinatal mortality at pregnancy lasting at least 22 weeks (WHO); - supplied drugs; - physicians and nurses employed in care; - Hbo nursing graduates / medicine graduates (university); - profitability and operating results at institutions; - persons receiving residential care. Figures reported for the last two years are provisional for: - persons employed in health and welfare. Figures reported for the last three years are provisional for: - diagnoses known to the general practitioner; - expenditures on care. Figures reported for the last four years are provisional for: - hospital admissions by some diagnoses; - average period of hospitalisation. Changes as of 20 December 2018: Addition of recent figures for most indicators. The series of persons employed in health and social care have been replaced, due to a revision of the national accounts using new statistical sources and methodology. Figures for university grades on medicine have been replaced, using the total of graduates instead of those with follow-up training only. The new series matches better with the figures that will remain available from now on. When will new figures be published? New figures will be published in June 2019.
