Statistics Norway

Statistics Norway (The Central Bureau of Statistics) was formally established as an independent entity in 1876. The Statistics Norway is responsible for collecting, producing and communicating statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels.

      If a search in the StatBank does not return any result, this does not necessarily mean that there is no trade or that the country code is not valid in the particular period. A zero (0) could also imply that the figures are confidential or that the value is less than half of the unit used. From 2006 on the following countries had their belonging to continent changed - Cyprus from Asia to Europe, and Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan from Europe to Asia. The total for Trade are/continent includes this change - while in the selections of countries in the pull-down menu for European/Asian countries it is the present classification that will be shown for the whole time period (Cypros belonging to Europe and the other countries to Asia). Statistics Norway do not publish figures for the trade region previously Comecon after 2011. For more information, see About the statistics Monthly figures are released on the 15th of the month after the observation period (the previous month), or the first subsequent working day. These figures are preliminary. Corresponding yearly figures are published together with the monthly figures for December. With regard to the current year, all the monthly figures are updated in every publication. Final figures for the preceding year are released twice. For the first time in May the following year, while the corrected final figures are published in May one year later. country EU Croatia is included in the trade with the EU from 2014 on.       Source: Eurostat contents Purchasing power parities (EU28=1) Purchasing power parities are price level indicators which indicate the number of country A's currency units needed in country A in order to maintain the purchasing power of one currency unit of country B's currency in country B. For example, Norway's purchasing power parity indicates how many Norwegian kroner we need in Norway in order to maintain the purchasing power of one euro in the EU28. Price level indices (EU28=100) A price level index indicates the price level in a given country relative to another. The price level index is defined as the purchasing power parity divided by the exchange rate. Real expenditure (million) Real expenditure is the expenditure in national currency restated at a common price level for all countries. Real expenditure is defined as expenditure in national currency divided by the purchasing power parity. Volume indices of real expenditure per capita (EU28=100) Volume indices of real expenditure per capita are defined as real expenditure per capita expressed as indices with EU28=100.
