World Trade Organization provides trade statistics of exports and imports of fuel by country up to 2015. 

  • In 2014, the two biggest fuel exporters was Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia. Volume of fuel export of Russia was $316 Billion and $285 Billion for Saudi Arabia, it was 10.3% and 9.3% respectively. These major exporters are known for their reserves of oil and gas, rather than coal and traditional fuels. 
  • The US ranked as the world's largest importer of fuel at about 11% of global fuel import. The second largest import economy was China, the volume of fuel import was $317 Billion.
