The Insurance Information Institute is a U.S. industry organization which exists "to improve public understanding of insurance -- what it does and how it works." Its web site provides information for consumers, the media, researchers and the general public on a wide range of topics, including automobile insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance, annuities, health insurance, long-term care insurance and disability insurance. The Web site also contains papers, presentations and factsheets that focus on financial results, catastrophes, climate change and other key issues the insurance industry faces.

      The North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA) reported that the pet health insurance sector for the United States posted gross written premiums of $1.99 billion in 2020, up 27.5 percent from $1.56 billion in 2019. The market has been rising at an average annual growth rate of almost 24.2 percent from 2016 to 2020. The total number of pets insured reached 3.1 million at year-end 2020.
